I guess it really depends on what you're into. I have a lot more trouble getting into anime than I used to and I'm easily turned off if I feel like something is getting too cheesy or cliche, and I like darker stuff. I like Attack on Titan, so I'd say Psycho Pass - so far - is kind of in that realm where there's gore, and a bit darker of an atmosphere, and you're not sure which characters are trustworthy. The ages are older, though, which is kind of nice (I believe the main cast is all twenty+ if that makes a difference). The concept is interesting and I'm not that far in, but it's being developed.

I'm not quite sure if six, seven episodes in, it's the best thing I've ever seen though. So far it's been subplots, that seem to be loosely tied together to the plan of some mysterious lead antagonist, but I'm having trouble caring about this antagonist so far and he seems a bit generic. Some of the gore seems to go a bit overboard - I don't mean it offends me or whatever, but some of the murders (especially "sexy" murders of girls) are a bit of an eye-roll and so personally lose me a bit.

But overall so far I kind of like the grim, futuristic sci-fi possibly dystopian atmosphere, and I like the protagonist (she's really growing as a character, even as far as I am in), and the team she works with. I'd tentatively suggest so far it's better than your average anime but it really just depends on your genre and what works for you.
