Sorry for the mixup; I didn't listen to that podcast. But I still don't think that poisoning a child for personal gain is justifiable, even if you only """mildly"""" poison them.

The list bends over backwards to attribute Walt's bad decisions to Jesse and make Walt look like a saint. "Jesse improperly disposed of a body!" ... because Walt failed to explain to him how to use the materials and why the proper equipment was proper. "Jesse killed Gail and now Walt's in trouble!" ... because Walt told him to kill him. "Jesse tried to poison Gus!" because Walt told him to oh my god.

If Jesse "made his own life hell," then Walt himself made a sizable chunk of the messes he had to clean up. Half the problems Walt had with Jesse were because Walt treated him like a meth-dealing helper monkey and expected him to follow his every instruction to the letter, without question, despite the fact that he learned early on that that wasn't something he could reliably expect from Jesse. The other half were because of Jesse's struggles with addiction, which his dealings with Walt actively exacerbated, and which Walt ignored until they directly inconvenienced him.

Personal gain? He did it to stop Gus from murdering his family. It was a last resort, he was going to try to get them fake identities but Skyler spent the money.

Right, and the only reason Gus was going to kill his family in the first place was because Walt pissed in Gus's face at every opportunity. If Walt hadn't sabotaged his own relationship with Gus, it wouldn't have escalated to that point.

Wait what?

Everything was going fine between Walt and Gus until Jesse tried killing one of his men and Walt saved him by killing the other guy.

Did you even watch the show?
