I really hope you're an LGBT person but, regardless, I am so fucking tired of being treated like an eggshell. I don't like that word or any other slur but it's just a word. There is so much worse that can be done to me. I will call people out when they say things like that but, given Kurt's behavior, I think he deserved a lot worse. If Finn had punched him over that, I would have applauded. From day one Kurt was a crappy stereotype and a bad role model. I don't need perfect gays on TV but he was just painful to watch. I think he improved over time but, yes, too much focus on Kurt and Blaine (the character I wish Kurt had been) was one of many reasons I had to drop that show.

Sucks too because I liked Karofsky. I was much more like him as a teen and the Kurts I knew were never so over the top.

I have to ask, how is Blaine the character you wish Kurt had been?

The whole sissyphobia in the gay community (like when Tuc Watkins bashed Cam and Mitch on Modern Family) is really crappy. Guess what, not every gay guy out there is a masculine he-man.

It's great that you've managed to not feel the hurt of that word, but there's plenty of gay kids who feel the hurt of that word as much as they would a punch. There's also plenty of sociological and psychological theory to back up the fact that slurs can be considered, and for many people are, violent acts. To act as if words cannot be weapons, especially if they're weapons backed up by societal oppression, is completely unreasonable. Your experience or processing is not universal. And to be quite frank, I'd rather the kids who do still get hurt by that sort of thing feel validated than coddle your annoyance at something that happens because you feel it is too often shown.

Like I said, Finn never came close to being violent to Rachel despite the fact that she was scheming in the same way and had also been told to back off.

If you don't like Kurt, you don't like Kurt, but your dislike seems to be affecting the way you view the situation in a way that I don't think is warranted. But thanks for telling me you used to bully obviously gay kids because of self-hate, I guess. I'm sorry you felt that way. I don't think you'll have a problem finding comedies where gay characters' love lives aren't in the forefront however (mostly because they won't be main characters at all).
