philstar22: (Black Widow)

I like it in the comics, at least what little I've read. But the relationship isn't the same in the movies (as in there isn't one to speak of). So it wouldn't work for me in the movies. In the movies it is Steve/Bucky and Clint/Natasha all the way, though the only one who has a chance of being canon is the second. And actually, I'd prefer them all to remain single in canon because I don't want romance getting in the way of their awesomeness.

Me too! That is why the idea of Steve/Sharon in Cap 3 makes me roll my eyes. I don't want romance PLUS it is creepy to hook up a guy with the niece of the woman he loved.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-16 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. Please, dear lord, ANYTHING but Steve/Sharon. It just skeeves me out. It's like those Stony shippers who have Steve in love with Howard and then fall in love with Tony. Just…WHY?

(Anonymous) 2015-02-16 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a thing?!

(Anonymous) 2015-02-16 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. I've seen it happen.

In regards to the movies, I just think it's hilariously bad and kind of…icky…that Steve canonically is in love with Peggy then Sharon. Just, please spare us that in the MCU for god's sake.

It is! And it is so creepy.

Sharon/Steve: Look Steve! A younger, blonder version of that woman you loved. Go get 'em tiger.

Steve/Tony: Look Steve! A more cynical, bulkier version of that man you loved. Go get 'em tiger.

I enjoy Steve/Howard. But most of it has Steve/Tony as well, which squicks me.

If I were invested in S/H for the ship itself, I'd be really disappointed because I'd never be convinced that isn't a set up for S/T down the line.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-17 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
I scrolled through so many pages of Steve/Howard thinking "Why are all of these about Tony?"

I was very disappointed.

I know! I ship both Tony/Steve and Howard/Steve but the rarity of the second makes me crave it more. But there are only 3-4 really good ones for Howard/Steve. ;_;

Please for the love of all that is good and holy tell me that you've read this one.

I have! It is hilarious.
loracarol: (the spine)

Good. The idea of someone being a Steve/Howard fan and not reading it fills my heart with such sorrow that I just had to double check. |D

That's a shame. I don't ship Steve too much with either Peggy or Bucky, but I do/did like the chemistry between him and Howard.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-16 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve/Sharon

This is a good ship IMO because Chris Evans and Emily VanCamp are both really pretty

(Anonymous) 2015-02-16 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
EVERYONE in MCU is really pretty though.

Steve/Sharon's a tad too Aryan for my taste though (in terms of aesthetics).

(Anonymous) 2015-02-16 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
So's everyone else they're surrounded by in these movies.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-16 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a good point, but if I can offer a counterpoint, they are the prettiest, according to my subjective aesthetic standards, which are objectively correct

(Anonymous) 2015-02-16 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
To each their own I suppose. I don't know why, but I find Emily to be (while not ugly) really, really generic in terms of appearance.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-16 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait a minute, you're not me! You must be Aryan!anon from one comment up!!

(Haha yes, but while we're here, I'd just like to say that I find both of them kind of generic-pretty. Cap is still... you know, Cap, but it's the whole package, not the looks.)

(Anonymous) 2015-02-17 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry about that.

In all honesty, I didn't find Chris Evans attractive until I fell in love with Cap. He was just too muscular for me and a bit generic, like you said. It's the combination of looks and personality that I find hot as hell in Steve.

Sharon hasn't had the screen time to develop much of a character though.

Same. Although for me I think was personality + new, better haircut.

[personal profile] ketita 2015-02-17 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
Wait, which haircut are you considering the upgrade? Because for me I adored the part he had in the first movie, and I wish he hadn't updated it in Cap2 (even though plotwise it makes perfect sense)

We don't know if Sharon is actually Peggy's niece in MCU though.

From the SDCC cast reveal, "Feige immediately said, "The next one is Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and brings out the directors, then Frank Grillo playing Brock "Crossbones" Rumlow, he introduced Emily Van Camp as "Agent 13 aka Sharon Carter!" Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Anthony Mackie as The Falcon, Sebastian Stan "used to go by the name Bucky Barnes, now Winter Soldier," Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff, and Chris Evans, Captain America are all on the stage."

(Anonymous) 2015-02-17 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
This isn't definitive proof, but Sharon (when she's posing as Kate the nurse) is on the phone with an aunt she mentions is an insomniac which I think is pretty clearly meant to be Peggy.

Which makes me really, really hope that they're not going to try to get over the creepy factor by having Peggy setting Steve up with her niece because that just makes it WORSE, in my opinion.
