Worse, it's Mardi Gras. Parties were supposed to be everywhere.

But this isn't the first snowed in birthday that I've had. Nor the second or third. It's a running tradition at this point. When I was kid we would put off my birthday for a week or two to make sure snow wasn't going to happen. (Because, again, most times it did.) That's how bad it got.

So, I ask you, do you have any running traditions that happen on your birthday or that you do?

On a brighter side, I've signed up for enough free birthday stuff clubs that I've been able to get a free box of Godiva chocolates, free sandwiches from Jersey Mike, Which Wich, Firehouse Subs, (almost free from) Jason's Deli, free make up from Ulta and Sephora, ice cream from Ben and Jerry's and more discounts than you can shake a stick at.

Do you go for any freebies on your birthday? If so what?

I get $15 off dinner at Houlihans, free chocolate at Godiva, free meal at Moes, free dessert from a bunch of places, $10 coupon at World Market, and I'm sure there's more that I can't remember now.

Can you put off your birthday, and Lent too?

I often get free fireworks, as my birthday falls in the week that they still celebrate the liberation of Antwerp (WWII) here. I rarely went to actually see them deliberately.

Also there's this restaurant that lets you eat for free in your birthday provided you take at least 4 other people. Needless to say, I've eaten there with m friends the last two birthdays!

That's a fantastic idea. I don't know why I've never tried to do that before. My birthday is next week, hopefully I can do it in time...

Ah man, that sucks... I'm sorry. You should celebrate your birthday on a different day when you can do whatever you want.

The last few years I've hosted Cake Party as sort of an unbirthday party for myself, sometime in the weeks around my birthday. I bake a cake, my friends come over and help me eat it. This year it's postponed because of all the awful weather, but it'll happen eventually.
