but wouldn't this be a case where intersectionality comes in tho? I mean of course they aren't the same--what happens to black people is different from what happens to trans people-- but they are indeed similar in that they both face many of the same prejudices/dangers because of who they are, is that not what intersectionality is? not trying to stir shit/cause wank, i'm honestly confused on the issue. ]=

Unless I'm not understanding your comment, I don't think this would be a case of intersectionality? Intersectionality usually refers to the intersection of two or more forms of opression in the same person/group, not of two groups being opressed in different ways.

I agree with you, though, they definitely face many of the same prejudices and dangers. Both black people and trans women face violence and police brutality disproportionality etc, specially black trans women.
