DB also seems to have managerial skills, which is unusual in CSI supervisors. I really started to enjoy the show again with him on board.

Me too!

I feel like D.B. is a great addition. He cares about his people; he keeps on task without getting too hot-under-the-collar (his own family notwithstanding); he's an actual boss but not a bad one. He doesn't go rouge or let others go rouge but he supports his people. After Langston, I felt he was exactly what the show needed.
