... don't most people have them? I mean, I'm far from the thinnest person ever but even I have one.

Laying in that position? Yes. Just about everyone has one.

The real "thigh gap" challenge is to stand up with your knees and feet together and still have one.

Nayrt

Yeah, in a standing position like tat, I think thigh gaps look odd and unattractive. It just looks skinny rather than toned.

Well that's the flaw in using the thigh gap like some measure of fitness: note that female athletes, including runners - who have lower % body fat than any skinny girl off the street could even dream - don't have thigh gaps. If you have any muscle, the gap will close. Whereas if you have very little muscle, and wide hips, you can actually be fairly overweight and still have one. And women/girls with narrow hips can starve themselves into oblivion and still not have one.

I'm not sure "no fat and no muscle and wide hips" is spectacularly impressive, really.

I'm not sure you can have thigh gaps (that is, gaps between your thighs when your knees touch) if your legs are toned. Even naturally wiry, fit people are going to have too much muscle to leave a gap. Basically to get a thigh gap you need wide hips and skinny legs with low muscle tone. Like ariakas, I don't think that's particularly impressive OR attractive.

You absolutely can because I'm pretty toned and I have one. You don't need to have super-skinny legs, you just need wide hips.

Not all muscle is bulky, either. Some people (women especially) tend to build wiry muscle instead of bulky muscle, which doesn't take up nearly as much space.
