I liked Cedric and thought he looked good. I also do not see anything attractive about the actor in Twilight or when I see him in celebrity stuff. I don't know why this is true but you're not alone in feeling like this.

Count me in as well. Pattinson isn't the only actor I find more attractive in some roles than in others.

By the time GOF came out, I was already an adult, so I wouldn't let myself be attracted to Cedric. That being said, I do think Cedric looks better than Robert does most of the time. And Edward's skin is so unnaturally pale it does not look at all attractive to me.

I think I was 23 when GOF came out and I was *quite* attracted to him... he was obviously supposed to be 17 and I have no idea how old Robert thingie was at the time of filming, but probably not much older. And even in the book I thought him being in Hufflepuff was so sexy!

There's something I dislike about Pattison's nose that throws his entire face off for me. His nose looks like a three year old sculpt it out of play-dough. I think any other nose, smaller, bigger, thinner or wider would be an improvement.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-18 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, are you suggesting he should get a nose job?

Honestly to me it looks like someone selected his head in Photoshop and applied Skew.

It's super-effective! By which I mean WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR HEAD

It's like a shovel face.

I don't find that odd. I can be crushing on a character, while being indifferent to the actor or other roles.

Same. Even if I can say they're good-looking, there's very few dude actors I'd be swooning for outside of some of the characters they play.

Like Jim Caviezel for instance. Not interested in him, the count of Monte Cristo, or Jesus Christ, but I would totally love to buy John Reese flowers.

Well, there's more to attraction than just physical looks. Cedric was a better person than Edward, at least on the whinyness scale. Also, Robert Pattinson's face was... better constructed when he was younger. Even just a few years older, and his face kind of got wonky. To men, anyway.

Cedric had decent hair and had facial expressions that didn't look like he was holding in a fart.

RPatz is unfortunate-looking all of the time... and most of his movies are terrible... but he's so delightfully ambivalent (and stoned) in most interviews that I fangirl him anyway.

I get that. I'm the same about Alex O'Loughlin - in fact I'd been thinking about making a secret about it, but am too lazy. ;) I think he's totally hot as Steve McGarrett, but I did not find Mick St John hot at all.

Image: Robert Pattinson as Cedric, Edward, and himself

Text: I thought Cedric was super hot.

Never seen a Twilight film in my life, but Edward Vampire is decidedly unhot.

And I’m sort of indifferent toward Robert Pattinson. (I find it very amusing how he always looks like he’s drugged-out though)

This is stupid really, as they are physically the same person.

I'm not trying to use my mind
I got that attitude at all times

That happens sometimes.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-18 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
For me it's Liam Neeson. In some roles (Satisfaction, Love Actually) I think he's damn hot. In some roles (High Sprits, Rob Roy), he so decidedly un-hot to me that it is off-putting. In some roles (Before and After, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace), I'm pretty indifferent to him.

This is like Viggo Mortensen. Only hot as Aragorn. It defies logic.

i have to admit i wrote a fanfic based on "what if cedric diggory was actually edward cullen!?" fanfic: Undead Like Me (http://archiveofourown.org/works/3174606)

just because it's the same actor. so don't worry OP, if you really don't find edward hot, it's because he just recently died

Let this be a lesson about how your hair, clothes, general demeanor and basically, what you project, are such an important part of being attractive rather than just your base physical traits.

Although I never found him super-hot, I completely agree with your sentiment.

(Anonymous) 2015-02-18 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't get how anyone would find this weird. You're crushing on the character, not the actor. The character is a totally different person from another character the actor played. If you are attracted to Cedric as a character, and not just for his bone structure and proportions, then it's totally unsurprising that you'd feel differently for a different character. Attraction is way more than physical appearance for all but the most shallow among us.

Even apart from that, and if we focus on visual attractiveness alone, the two characters have a totally different hair/makeup/expression/style going on.
