It is still not the same. One wants a systematic change of society on a global level. Having all almost six billion people as well as the majority of Muslims who are too moderate for their agenda to change their way of thinking or die by the knife. And the other is more isolated. If the whole world was as Islamphobic as you think it is, there would be no Muslims. One and half billion versus six billion people with the majority of those non-Muslims having weapons like nuclear bombs? Do the math. (Hell, India alone would be wiping out Muslims left and right if they had the chance. Starting with Pakistan.)

First, I am only talking about this in a Western context. Hence the compare and contrast with Charlie Hebdo and Chapel Hill. This is a western issue, not a global one as much as you would like to think it...
And honestly, is your news source Fox News?

You don't think this is a global issue?

Wow.

You don't get to say, "And honestly, is your news source Fox News?" when you are this ignorant.

No I don't think this is a global issue. The fact that you think Islamophobia in the West is the same thing as disputes between Pakistan and India is mind boggling.
Also, the fact that you think events like Charlie Hebdo, which are so statistically rare, have some massive importance on a large global scale is due to probability neglect, not an educated inference.

But sure, I'm the ignorant one here.

I'll tell Japan that they have nothing worry about radical extremists killing their citizens because this is really a "Western issue."

I'm sure it will make them feel better over what has happened in the last week.
