I'm not a Kanye stan either. I'm just tired of elitist rock music fans that think because music has a lead guitar and drummer, and your white dad probably likes it, it suddenly makes it superior, genuine, and pure.
Just the idea of rock n' roll itself being so "anti-establishment and authentic!!" makes me roll my eyes.

Yeah.

Rockism, basically.

DA:

I don't think rock is superior or more genuine or anything like that. I still find musicians from other genres calling themselves rock stars rather silly. And it implies that being a rock star is something more than playing popular rock music, so it actually plays more into what gets you eye-rolling than the opposite.

I think anyone who seriously thinks this is in the wrong decade.

And I love rock. I like music from basically every genre, but I'm rather fond of rock. (And there is some pretty mainstream rock. I'm not really all about the deep edgy meaning behind any genre. I like it because it sounds cool. Maybe that makes me shallow and Not A Real Fan, haha.)
