I'm not trying to make anyone like it. I just think people are ragging on it for all the wrong reasons. 'I dislike it because I hate trashy romance' well good for you! I happen to be fond in a stupid nostalgic way of trashy romance, and I like it in much the same way I do Jupiter Ascending. They're not good or well written at all, but they are hilarious and can be fun. How much they appeal to anyone is a very subjective thing.

I mean, 'I don't like that people portray it as a how to BDSM when it really isn't that at all', that makes sense. 'I don't like it because I find the writing bad and I can't stand reading books with bad writing / I have a low tolerance for this' well that works too. 'I find it unbelievable by my standards and it doesn't work as fantasy' well ok! 'It's just not my kink' absolutely.

'I think it's shit and anyone who likes it is supporting abusive relationships and has no taste at all and doesn't know anything about BDSM and is a terrible person and clearly has some issues' no, get out, also you have no idea how much I have heard this, it's all over THIS thread itself. This is (to borrow from other people) like telling a woman who indulges in the occasional fat-laden terribly unhealthy food that she must be supporting terrible farming practices and clearly knows nothing about nutrition or how to take care of her own body. It's just silly.

Oh fucking bullshit. If you eat a vegetable you're supporting underpaid dangerous migrant work. There is literally no avoiding supporting bad business practices/human labor laws/etc.
