Honestly, Tumblr is too big to turn into a real shithole. People like to mock it because you can go to parts of it and find total crazies, but you can do that on Facebook or Blogger, too. At least with Tumblr, they're exposed to people who disagree with them, and while that may erupt into verbal slap-fights, that's better than completely surrounding yourself with people who're as angry and hateful as you.
