this whole thing just seems stupid to me. Is it about the only gay character on the show dying, when no other straight main characters have died, for a death that really wasn't necessary at all to the plot, and gives the distinct impression that maybe the writers killed the gay character because they didn't want to actually deal with the gay character to the end? maybe we can have the gay fridging discussion then.

But a character dying who happens to be gay, that's stupid, especially if other non-gay characters are dying as well, or if not all the gay characters have died. I mean, death in fiction happens. and it's a bit annoying to expect that gay characters should be treated differently than any other character. Same with "fridging" in general involving any other group.

Unless you just can't handle death in fiction all together, I suppose.
