Seriously, it's not that I don't like girly boys, but it's nice to see someone lifting a sword whos arms WOULDN'T break under the sheer weight of it (sorry Ichigo)

AMEN.

The thing I love about Guts' character design is how his physical appearance has developed over the course of the series. He got freaking SCARS and the scars stayed there instead of getting magically healed. As he grew older his physique changed - and while you could chalk a certain amount of that up to the development of the art style, there's obviously an attempt to show how his lifestyle has taken a physical toll on his body.

And damn if he doesn't make lifting a weapon the side of the Buster Sword look actually physically possible. :P

Haha oh god yeah. Thats one little... pet peeve of mine esp as an artist. I love making fantasy things jump to life, but they don't if you just look at it and go "well THAT isn't physically possible". A guy that goes around fighting all the time isn't gonna look pretty and skinny XD
