(Anonymous) 2008-01-06 12:30 am (UTC)(link)I was glad he died because I really do think it made for a better story than "AND THEN, HE IS GOD" would have.
I totally agree. Even though I liked Light, his death left me satisfied because it gave it closure. And it was a creepy death to boot. I would have been disappointed if I never got to see him die.
so perhaps I'm a bit blinded as to why a lot of people hate the second part of the manga.
I think it's less to do with Light's death, and more to do with the fact that the entire fandom completely loves L and so most didn't want to read any more after he died.. Maybe it's just me, but I personally found Light to be much more interesting than L ever was, so I didn't really care about that. :/ *shields herself from thousands of L fangirls* ..And seeing how Light outsmarted L (and Rem) was, again, fascinating.
