Eh, I don't think that's so wanky. You like what you like.

I find unhealthy/fucked-up relationships interesting, but I also like and find it refreshing when a pairing is healthy (it's just a shame that that's both rare and rarely done well).

ETA: Annnnd I just realized I read your secret wrong. It seems like most canon couples aren't very healthy...? Perhaps we're consuming very different media.

I agree. Most of the major canon relationships in my fandoms are incredibly fucked up.

John Watson/Mary
Phoenix Weight/Dahlia
Captain Jack/Ianto
Gwen/Rhys
Claire/Hardy (Broadchurch)

The OP must be consuming very different media to the rest of us.

Meanwhile, the juggernaut pairing of Phoenix/Edgeworth is a) not canon; and b) normally portrayed as very healthy.

True. In Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, if you're looking for healthy relationships with lots of domestic fluff, canon is not the way to go.

Heroes would be another fandom I could think of. Sylar/Maya is canon. Crazy screwed up! All the healthy relationship fic I ever saw in that fandom was for Mohinder/Matt which is a slash fanon pairing.
