Have you ever noticed a celeb who you think would be attractive to you if not for the fact that their appearance reminds you so much of a family member (or whoever) that you feel too awkward to fantasize about them or find them hot? Alternatively, are there any celebs that resemble your family members but you're able to fantasize about them anyway? If you want to make this kind of weird, you could also talk about famous people that you're attracted to specifically because they look like a family member

I was looking through some of my mom's old yearbooks a couple of years ago and found out that one my uncles used to look almost EXACTLY like a young Jared Padalecki when he was a teenager (except he had a goofy mustache). They even grew up around the same general area of Texas and for half a second I wondered if Padalecki was my uncle's love child or something.

Scarlett Johansson looks uncomfortably like my mom did when she was younger, only with blonde hair.

I always thought Lucy Lawless looked like my mom, and that's probably why I was never attracted to Xena. Something about this also prevented me from shipping her with Gabrielle, but it took a lot longer to realize it was that Gabrielle looked kind of like me.

No, seriously. I showed a photo of my younger brother to a friend, and her response was, "Hon, are you sure he ISN'T in gay porn and just never told you?" He's the Ur-twink. (And I will NEVER tell him this, because he's a very straight good ol' Texas boy.)

This is why my response to a lot of gay porn is, "WHY AREN'T YOU IN SCHOOL YOUNG MAN." Because even though my brother is now twenty-five, a grown-ass man with his own apartment and a college degree, in my head he is always seventeen, and thus so are the porn actors.

I'm a real hit at porn parties, let me tell you.

D.J. Cotrona is lovely, but he looks so much like my dad that they could be brothers and it freaks me out.

I don't think I would have gone for him anyway because stupidly tall people just make me laugh, but when I started watching Supernatural from the beginning, I was really struck by how much Sam looks like one of my brothers did in high school. My brother is actually pretty short, so it's mainly the hair and eyes. His mom reads a lot of heavily AU J2 fic, so I don't mention this to her, lol. My dad looked a lot like Jax from Sons of Anarchy when I was born, which I wouldn't have realized if my uncle hadn't pointed it out on Facebook, but that's fine because I don't watch that show or go for blond guys anyway. :D

An inversion: some family members say I look like Kirsten Dunst and now I'm weirdly aware of her. And attracted to her.

I read this as "Have you ever noticed a crab who you think would be attractive to you". I need sleep.

It's not so much that I don't think she's nice-looking, although I don't find her attractive, but one of my coworkers looks like a Julia Roberts/Emmy Rossum cross, and she's also a dead-ringer for how one of my favorite fan artists draws Christine Daaé from The Phantom of the Opera. Which would be fine if I didn't find said coworker to be kind of annoying.

Not really attracted to, but I've seen actors in shows that remind me SOOOO much of people that I hate that I have a hard time watching them and rooting for them. It drives me crazy and I have to focus really hard on their character to wipe the evoked memories from my brain.

My uncle (mother's brother) looked like a young Tom Cruise about 20 years ago.

The uncle that I hate looks like Phil Collins.
