What character headcanons (valid or not), mistaken characteristics, or exaggerations have you gotten from fandom?

(For example, I just realized that I think of Gildor has a bit of a dick because of a fic I once read years ago.)

Hah! I once read a fic with evil Aragorn that made me dislike him for monttthhhsssss!

Other than that, there is a lot of DBZ stuff that I get confused with canon. Damn those fanfic writers!

No, it was a Gil-galad/Elrond short story. Gildor wasn't even an actual dick in the story; Elrond just thought he was because he misread the situation.

But it definitely resonated with me and left me with an impression of Gildor as smug (although, it might also be the accumulation of fics depicting him like that).

I will always distrust and dislike Randy Orton for his role in a fic that had NOTHING to do with WWE/wrestling. His character was an abusive rapist husband to the protagonist, and was also involved with the mafia or some gang thing. My brother says the real guy is actually quite nice, but I'll never really believe that.

Also, I've been calling Draco Malfoy "Malfloy" all these years. Just this week I realized I've been saying, reading, and spelling it wrong. I feel like a buffoon. But no matter how I'll have to spell it now, I'll always call him Malfloy. Rhymes with alloy, which is shiny, like his platinum blonde hair.
