Re: The Embarrassing Fandom You Love
(Anonymous) 2015-02-21 01:03 am (UTC)(link)I don't think this thread is as unrealistic as you're painting. Lots of people like certain things that they are made to feel shame for. There's nothing in the thread to suggest you can't be loud and proud about your love of the fandom either. But there ARE fandoms that get grief. Surely you can agree with this. This thread is just to see who likes those kinds of fandoms -- regardless of how they react to that negativity.
Re: The Embarrassing Fandom You Love
Unless there is some great fandom war going on that I don't know about where BNFs dox each other and have their minions shank the dox'd on the street, then someone not liking your fandom is not a big deal.
Re: The Embarrassing Fandom You Love
(Anonymous) 2015-02-21 01:31 am (UTC)(link)I would, however, like to know who likes the unpopular fandoms. You're confident. That's great. But does that mean that the people who aren't as confident have to be ostracized for not having thicker skin? Caring about what others think is very normal. It's great to be free of that worry but it's certainly not how everyone feels. And there are fandoms out there that get a lot of shit.
This thread isn't about how people deal with their love of shit-on fandoms. I answered that above. They can be loud and proud for liking 50 Shades. I just want to see who feels like they love something that's getting shit. That's really all there is to it.
