Same. RPF is just... creepy.

Fandom is creepy. If you don't believe me, try explaining to a non-fandom person how you spend your free time and watch the look in their eyes.

Pointing at one subset of fandom and saying "Ew" is ridiculous.

Some of us are able to fandom without being creepy. I don't read/write fic about anything in fandom, but it's still fun to read meta for whatever fandom I'm in. And let's be real, it's no worse than someone who's obsessed with their favorite pitcher's stats.

Congratulations on your superiority. You win fandom.

Obviously it's easier for you to keep thinking that, but I'm afraid it still is very weird to many people outside fandom for the level of interest bordering on obsession.

Nah stats are something men like, makes it okay. Same way dudes can spend money on game day tickets and scream their lungs out are morally superior to being going to see boy bands. :)

(I know women follow stats, I follow stats, although not pitchers, catchers.)

Trust me, you participating at all is still creepy to a lot of people. Your problem is you think it's not creepy just because you're the one doing it.
