14. FFXII is a great game, definitely. Just, to me it has too many similarities to FFIX, you know? It feels a lot like a remake, even if there are a lot of very significant differences. Maybe that gets in the way of my enjoyment of XII on its own, I dunno.

48. ....Same damn pairing, in all honesty. Though I am inclined to prefer Hikaru on top, saying that he MUST top all the time is just . . . . bleh. Forcing two characters into perpetual seme/uke roles is just not on. And boring to boot.

14 - Holy crap, someone else thinks so? The first time I played 12, all I could think of was how much it reminded me of 9. It was like they took nine and tried to make it more "mature" and "grown up." Even the music sounded like an echo of 9 in places. XD;;

XD Yeah. 9 was cool enough without being "mature/grown up" anyway Buuuut on the other hand, I loved 9, so this was not so much of a problem for me as it could have been. XD

I freaking loved 9. XD It's pretty much tied for my favorite ever; 10 only wins because it was a fandom for a while.

It was definitely in no need of "maturing" and "being cool", but I remember playing 12 and thinking just that - that they had taken 9, picked it apart, tried to make it "mature" and "cool" and "for adults" (in the "smart and serious" way), and... *laugh*

Exactly! Every time they'd throw a 9 reference in there I'd be like "WHUT. I THOUGHT WE'VE BEEN OVER THIS ALREADY." I'm so used to them creating an entirely new universe for each game and then we get one that feels rather like it got jacked from a previous one . . . . I mean, 9 was cool, in a sense, because it didn't try to be. I mean, 12 is fun in its own way, but I think I'd've liked it better if it hadn't recycled old plot elements and tried to mess with the awesome that was 9. :3

10 was actually the first one I played - I got a PS2 and a friend offered me one of her FF games. I picked 10 cause it had the best graphics. XDD;; It's a nice game, 10 - I think it was that the world and characters were developed enough that it worked in the game, but undeveloped enough that they were fun to poke at in fanfic. XD I dunno, it was a game that felt very "fandom" from the start to me. XD

Anyway, I swear, even sometimes the music - "Am I in Lindblum?" XD When Ashe asked Balthier to kidnap/steal her, I actually laughed out loud. I'm sorry, Princess, but Zidane and Dagger did it better. XD

In a way I can't blame them for wanting to recycle 9 - it was silly and overlooked, so I can see the urge to "try it again," so to speak. I just don't think they did a very good job in doing so. XD

I hate when the same damn pairing is treated as two different things because of name order. CHARACTER DYNAMIC IS CHARACTER DYNAMIC IF IT SOMEHOW CHANGES ACCORDING TO WHO GIVES IT TO WHO IN THE ASS, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG.

...um. Sorry. :D;;

Mmm, I can understand that perfectly. I too found similarities as well between the two of them. But I am totally biased as I played FF12 before I played FF9, sooooo. Yeah. Something about XII just makes me love it to bits.
