Please explain where matters like Darfur come into this argument? Yeah, it's not a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things, but neither is any of this. Anime? How does that cure cancer? Your favorite band? Don't see them going to the moon. Your emo wrist cutting? Doesn't look like it's helping to solve that rape/homicide case that happened two houses down. Stop bringing in irrelevant arguments. It's pointless and stupid.
