It's so very petty. It took me five years to get into LotR-movies because of this. Still not watching Avatar (the Cameron movie) though. I guess I'm gauging what has staying power. Or being a stubborn ass more likely.

You are not missing out by not seeing Cameron's Avatar. At all.

That film physically hurt my mom's eyes. She couldn't watch it.

The story/characters are shit too.

I saw it and thought it was totally stupid and couldn't finish watching it. It was so bad. I wanted there to be an MST of it.

This is me too. One of my friends raved about Forrest Gump and kept telling me to watch it to the point it took me 20 years before I saw it.
