General gaming fandom, Final Fantasy and Nintendo/Zelda would be big ones.

Anime fandom will always be around. General anime fandom tends to require keeping up with new anime though, so if you only like specific series keep to those.

For the most part, all you have to do is look into the the curren tbatch of popular sports anime if you want a huge fandom. Since that is what is hot at the moment.

For female anime fans at least. Guys tend to avoid sport anime for whatever reason.

Yeah, anime fandom's weird. It's fairly even genderwise, but girls and guys tend to hang out in separate places.
