I feel like people are rightly recognizing that time didnt move for Steve mentally, but are completely failing to acknowledge that it did for Peggy and she's NOT the same person she was.

Peggy might not be the same person, but her feelings for Steve didn't change because, to her, he DIED. They didn't have a relationship that didn't work out. He was her lost love. She was completely torn up about losing. And it's not just her -- you can see her picture in Steve's compass in the Smithsonian. She talks about him in some of the footage. She's a part of his story in the culture's history.

That she married someone else doesn't mean she stopped loving him. If your first husband dies, you don't stop loving him just because you remarry.

Except feelings for people who have died DO change. You may always love them and their memory but life moves on. Love changes. Most people don't spend 70 years never moving on from their dead love.

I get that. But my point is that Peggy still loved him. She never stopped loving him. In her memory, he'll always be brave, kind, noble, sweet, snarky Steve. And it's unlikely that Sharon wouldn't know that.
