OP here

Apologies for irking you. I didn't want to use the ad thread because I didn't think it fit, as it's not exactly a collaborative, community-driven comm, and more of a multimedia stroytelling project.

All the same, I'm just excited about it, and I want to share, and hopefully someone will have a good time with it, that's all.

If you don't want to look, that's totally cool, and I respect you wanting to maintain your boundaries. <3

You're fine, OP. Ayrt was just being a shit.

(though there is an "Advertising" area above the general comments that would probably have been better for this type of post, but as long as Case is fine with it, it's cool)

nayrt - Not trying to be mean here, but everyone who promotes their stuff always has a reason for why their promo isn't annoying spam but really legit. See what I'm getting at here? Your stuff may be good, but the very act of offering people unsolicited promo will turn off a certain segment of the viewing audience automatically. Especially if you bring it up more than once.

TBH I think this is true but I also think it's only true because people on F!S have weird-ass bugaboos about shit like this

it's just a thread about some crappy blog, people should chill the eff out

Tumblr is more laid back about self promotion, but personally, this doesn't mean I find it any less annoying. It's just that it's easier to unfollow/filter out the advertising without saying anything, which leads the people who self promote to believe that everything is cool.

OP here.

This is totally a legitimate complaint, and I apologize for putting off any attention whore vibes. In the future, I'll use the ads thread for this.

And to reiterate, I originally really did not think my thread belonged in the ads thread (I even double checked to be sure), as the description seemed to discouraged personal or 1/1 stuff, and was more aimed toward community advertising.

But! As many people have pointed out, I can put it there, so I will in the future. I really do apologize, I didn't mean to annoy anyone.

You haven't annoyed me personally, but one thing to keep in mind would be the frequency with which you post about this. You've probably pinged a few radars re: self-promotion because you only just talked about this yesterday, and most people who read regularly/daily would have seen it already. F!S traffic doesn't have a massive turnover, despite how it may appear. You may not have needed to post about it again quite so soon after the first post.

You mention posting again about this in the future, so just something to consider so that you don't venture into overkill territory.
