So it's starting to get a little late for general com, but whatever. I tend to be busy during the actual week and want to talk about it now.

Anyways, I just started watching it this past week and I am loving it so far. Just finished episode four and OMG I can't remember the last time I was this invested in... well, not the characters maybe, but the general writing and continuity and themes? I just want to talk about it with people.

I've also started writing post episode reviews/thoughts (http://theclacks.tumblr.com/tagged/my-reviews), which is a new-ish thing for, but also rather fun. I need to post what I've written for episode three and write up my thoughts for episode four. It's frustrating though because I don't want to dip entirely into fandom yet until I catch up, but I also don't want to wait that long + tumblr isn't the best for discussion anyways???

If anyone here has a tumblr and posts The 100 stuff though, I will follow you as soon as I catch up.

Oh whatever. I just want to talk about the show. Link includes me talking about the show, so someone can either start a topic based on stuff I've already gushed/complained about or they start one based on whatever they're thinking about. And that way people can either choose to click on it or choose not to click on it VS me c/p'ing a thousand words of stuff into f!s.

Or since - like I said - it's getting late, people might not even get this far down the page anyway.

Also promotions thread have always been more like "join this comm" or "upcoming fandom related event." We have threads where we post our own shit in general comments all the time anyways.

Also also wik, have you seen The 100, anon? Because you should really watch it if not. And then you can talk to me about it.

I just looked it up and it seems pretty cool! If I end up watching it I'll definitely check out your reviews.

Hooray! And yeah, I've been seeing it pop up occasionally more and more here, which is kind of my indicator of "hmm... maybe I should check this out." I think I started Homestuck (helped along a bit by RL friends) and Orphan Black and Sleepy Hollow because of fandom secrets and probably a lot of other stuff too. I also originally got into Doctor Who and Discworld because of various LJ comms. Oh, same for Community and Parks and Rec. (Yay, LJ/DW/FS!) That and it's on Netflix which is ALWAYS a huge plus for me.

But, to not give too much away (plus I'm only on the fourth ep, so who knows how the rest of Season 1 + Season 2 will play out), I've really excited because it has THEMES. Balanced themes that get carried through from episode to episode. Like it has the stereotypical dystopian future setting in which the main character wants to let people know THE TRUTH, but episode four was all pretty much "the truth can be a REALLY FUCKING DANGEROUS THING if you don't strategize and really think about the fallout that will come afterwards."

...and that's all I'll say in order to avoid outright spoilers.

It's not advertising if they're not making a profit.

Promoting fannish activity has always been accepted in F!S. That's why we have occasional threads for talking about what you've written/drawn etc.

Promoting your business here to make a profit? Even the ads thread doesn't allow that.
