Because they let designers give those to them to promote them. If they didn't want to get asked about it they should wear something from a minor label and not wear thousands of dollars worth of jewelry or just simply avoid the red carpet.

How are they getting promoted when they go "Ugh, fuck off asking me what I'm wearing"? It's almost like it's a business arrangement - free dress/jewels in exchange for free promotion. Such a terrible, misogynistic practice!
