Kingdom Hearts 2 was easy, yea. I loved it for many reasons (I found it entertaining, liked the cast, storyline, etc), but my biggest complaint wasn't with the battles, it was with the lack of exploration. The maps in the first Kingdom Hearts felt bigger and more open.

I think the only time I failed a boss battle was with Demyx... I'm awful with timed events, so I had to do that one a few times. The only issue I had with the final battle was the damned button mashing, lmao. I hate any hardcore button mashing in games, I feel like my finger is going to fall off.

They're both good games for different reasons imo, but I think now is the time if you want to replay them. (The remix versions are out! I bought the first but haven't played it yet. Need to get the second.)

OH MY GOD, YES. Alright, well, actually I thought the exactly opposite. I felt the maps in KH2 were bigger and open, but they were also a lot more stark? Like because they were bigger, the detail was stretched thinner and therefore it gave the game more of a cardboard set feeling. I didn't get the same exploratory feel in KH2 that I still get in KH. (And I think I've played through KH about three full times at this point, so way to go KH.)

Oh fuck. Yeah, I failed that one a lot too. But I never counted it as a "death" because of the whole damn timed thing. MY HP METER DIDN'T GO DOWN TO ZERO SO NYAHH.

Ugh, and I totally would except the only console systems I still have are a PS2 and Nintendo Wii. It's really hard for me to justify sitting down and spending so much time and money on games. I figure at least with TV/Movies I can crochet and eat and stuff as I watch. Part of that too is that I think this original fic of mine is finally in a stable enough form to get written/published. I want to finish it so badly... consuming other media vs writing makes me feel a bit guilty, but gaming makes me feel OVER 9000 levels of guilty.

Well, I did feel like the maps of KH2 looked bigger, but in a superficial way. (If that makes sense, like you said about the backdrops, you can see farther but not necessarily explore it.) KH2 was a lot more linear imo.

Haha, well technically it wasn't a death! Ugh that battle frustrated me a lot.

Games are a time sink, which is one of the reasons I don't replay them as often as I'd like. If you don't have the system and have other things you should be focusing on that's reasonable. (Good luck with your book, btw!)
