Maybe because we're not fluffy googoo-eyed teenagers? Assuming that Steve and Sharon aren't asexual, wanting to bang someone is part of romantic attraction, and it usually comes first. Yes, loving someone for their personality is possible, but how likely do you actually think that is between hot girl and hot guy in a mainstream film?

I'm not a fluffy googoo-eyed teenager but it takes more than finding someone physically attractive to want to bang them.
