Wow, that is majorly sucky. I usually constructed my player characters just from my books, but if I needed NPCs for something I was running, or maybe a PC for a quick one-shot with friends, it was a great resource! Definitely explained enough of d20 Modern for us to try that once.

Why would they even care? it's not like you wouldn't still go get a source book to play antying WOTC made. It was just a way to make your character fast and awesome!

People suspect that WOTC is planning on making or releasing their own one and charging people to use it, so... yeah.
