Re: Rants

it's pitful

you'd think anonymity would encourage creativity, but it's just plain laziness

Re: Rants

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
What's the point of being creative when case will delete the posts? The Islam thread had some funny replies, people replying to the trolls can be funnier that the trolls themselves. But case is no fun allowed these days.

da

creativity means cleverly disguising your troll posts as non troll posts, not 'But How Do I Become More Obvious and Waaacky!?' yawn

Re: Rants

Don't blame case for your failings as a troll.

Re: Rants

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
What. I'm not the troll. I'm just an anon who loves wank and drama.

Re: Rants

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
then go watching the news.

we don't need your stupid argument, statement, or either mindless yapping.

Re: Rants

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
then don't reply

that simple

Re: Rants

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
well, thank you, CAPTAIN OBVIOUS.

Re: Rants

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
and yet you're not listening

Re: Rants

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
are you case on a mission or a troll who doesn't get the memo?...

Re: Rants

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
nah, just a concerned citizen

Cry more. If you don't like it, ignore it. But there are lots of us who enjoy it.

DA

A good example of trolling would have been:

am I transphobic if I feel uncomfortable around trans people? I don't do anything to them I just really get super nervous around them. I can't explain why

Then in the comments you slowly reveal your inner transphobe by asking things like:

maybe it's because I notice the original gender markers that give them away? that's how I know they're trans. I actually have met trans people before, and honestly even if they would pass based on their pictures, it's really obvious in real life that they aren't naturally that way

And comment to yourself going like:

I feel bad saying it, but it's pretty easy to tell if you know what to look for. I'm not saying all trans people can't pass, but it'd be just as silly to say that all of them can or to give transgenders unrealistic expectations...

Honestly I find it a bit embarrassing that a lot of the time they seem to be trying too hard to be caricatures of women than actual women, it makes me really uneasy being around them too, OP.

Oh and:

not to derail but I dislike how a lot of trans people are praised as brave for transitioning

Then when people get mad, you invite the schism by saying:

you don't understand, I dislike it because it puts down people who can't or won't transition for various reasons!!

And things like:

I know I'm trans but I hate the LGBT community and feel seriously alienated by them and I don't see anything wrong with this

I don't believe any of the above ofc. BUT IT'S REALLY EASY TO STIR WANK if you're not an obvious idiot.

Re: Advice:

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
But that sounds pretty reasonable. I wouldn't get mad at your posts, your troll example sounds to me like a good guy with internalized transphobia, I wouldn't blame them for it .

Re: Advice:

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Some people would, or OP replies to themselves and pretends to be someone who does, then people like you you can argue with them for OP. That's the idea.

Re: Advice:

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
That's how the really good trolling starts! They sound so understandable at first but with every comment they slowly unpeel and reveal a bit of the ugliness beneath their reasoning, layer by layer, and your suspicion rises and rises, and then it just takes one commenter replying with the right question and then

BOOOM

the thread's on fire!!!

Re: Advice:

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, you never open with your strongest attacks. The trick is to get people ENGAGED in an argument first, and they won't do that with someone or something they suspect is an honest troll. All the statements are basically true enough or sympathetic enough that people would assume troll!OP is misguided but not beyond help, but at the same time they have enough snide implications about the issue that open up a lot of ways to start slipping in stronger and more extreme opinions.

Re: Advice:

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
so what? are you a PHD certificate of trolling, or something?...

yeah,yeah... whatever.Still, a troll is all but pieces of trashes, unless they couldn't admitted they-self.

Huh. If you somehow managed to reply to yourself in a thread like that, like it's a containment of only you, you could totally trick me into thinking too many people took your obvious bait.

Re: Advice:

(Anonymous) 2015-02-24 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
And that's why it actually works, in contradiction to this shock-and-awe bullshit. Real trolling is always trying to think three steps ahead.
