1. You know..It's something I've thought about from time to time, and all I can come up with is that you have to see your offline friends every. day. Or close to it. I dunno, life's just weird like that sometimes.

That, and "offline" is very limited in how many people are around. D: Online, you can go and search as long as you want for people in a similar fandom, or sit in communities meeting others.

10. Mm.. I don't mean to sound elitist in any way, but I'm very..particular about what multi-fandom games I join. I don't join single-fandom games because most of the players there are "OMG THEY SAID THIS, OOC GTFO". Most of the time from my experience, multi-fandom games (AU or world collided) have pretty nice players. Whether they're any good or not is another story that I won't get into.

But, it seems like after [livejournal.com profile] _catchphrase_, the multi-fandom games sprung up out of nowhere. What I've noticed are the ones that you suddenly see EVERYWHERE that SO MANY PEOPLE are in are the ones that were hap-hazardly thrown together in a few weeks. Honestly, though? The heavily plot-driven multi-fandom games are few and far between. Good luck finding them. D:

10. [livejournal.com profile] _catchphrase_ actually sprung out from [livejournal.com profile] afterlife_rp.

And I know a few plot-driven multifandoms.

10. Ah, I hadn't realized that. I was never in [livejournal.com profile] afterlife_rp, so I didn't know. My apologies.

I know a few as well, and I love the ones I'm in. ♥

(Anonymous) 2007-02-07 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
No need to apologise! It's just that [livejournal.com profile] afterlife_rp came first and many people thought otherwise. ♥

Yeah, they're fun. =)

[identity profile] some-kat.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
I remember having heard about the game at the time, but I ended up joining [livejournal.com profile] _catchphrase_ instead. That may be why I thought that one was first.

They're fun if you get the right ones ;D

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
I was in both games. *dies* I just enjoy writing with friends I can write with when I have the time. I'm also partly glad where I am has no drama whatsoever because friends rock. ♥

[identity profile] some-kat.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Aw XD; I just really love being in games that has good writers that are good for plot. Fun times, sure but..I need plot too T__T

AND NO DRAMA *___* IhopeIhaven'tstartedany D: ♥

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
All the places I'm in have plot. It is teh happy. ♥ And if you had, you know I'd just snuggle you back to normalcy, yes? :D

[identity profile] some-kat.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
I know, hon ♥ You did an awesome job setting your stuff up for it. Aw D: I figured if I had, you'd have talked to me about it by now, but I'm never sure XD;

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
That's right. I don't like talking about people behind their backs- if I have to say something, they'll hear it from me directly. :3

Me too about the particular thing. But I don't mean to sound elitist either, but the multifandom players may be nice, but I've found that singlefandom players are more IC. It's a tradeoff, I can go with either.

I hate huge multifandom games as a whole. Too many players, too little plot, too many characters thrown in there with nothing to do besides hook up with each other. I wish I could find a good game.

Re: #10

[identity profile] some-kat.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
I know, it's an almost unfair trade really. I usually go with people I feel comfortable talking to on a regular basis, though, so it's multi-fandom for me. u_u;;

Oh, I know. When the games get huge, it's too much to keep up with all the characters and I just don't feel like being there anymore. It's why I'm glad some of the games I'm in regularly turn off applications for a while at certain points, character limits for certain series, and so on. It makes it more bearable.

I tried looking at that one, but I had a hard time getting into it. I dunno. Don't get me wrong, it looks really good, but..just not for me. D:

actually, [livejournal.com profile] paixaorpg is one of the best multifandom games i've seen. i don't see any sex, much slash at all, and no "hooking up" characters. it is very very very plot driven.

[identity profile] some-kat.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Really? I didn't actually look since I'm in enough games to cover me right now.

I think what the maker was trying to say is that there's just so many multi-fandom games, and a good chunk of them are Kingdom Hearts based. I know from what I've seen, I can't exactly disagree. (And I'm not saying it's a bad thing)

what drives a lot of people away is the assload of info you have to read, and the hard application, maybe. oh, and the made up rumours floating around by the asswads who tried to steal the communities some months ago.

besides that, it's pretty cool. there is by no means a clique there. everyone gets invited to chats. everyone talks to everyone. everyone is friendly. and there's no sex, just plot. it's amazing.

LOL.

Re: #10

[identity profile] some-kat.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Well, of course, there's that. I'll always sit and read through everything no matter how long it is if I'm interested, but applicatons that ask me for an rp sample? Completely turns me away. I don't know what it is, but I just can't do it unless I'm actually logging something. And, I guess with so many games on livejournal, rumors are just something people will have to get used to. :\

Interesting. I'd have to see what players are in there since I've had bad runins with different people, as well as a closer look at what the plot is.

I was just thinking about joining Paixao but now I'm not so sure. What rumors?

Re: #10

(Anonymous) 2007-02-07 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
that there's a clique. that all there is is sex. that the moderators are power hungry drama llamas. (calling the kettle black, actually. who stole the damn communities? o_O)

that makes me go wtf. there has been NO SEX in the game, and no CLIQUES or any relationships whatsoever, since all of those dramahounds have LEFT.

just earlier today several new members were going on about how strange it was that they felt so welcome in paixao.

In my experience, I've RP-hopped a lot. Everything I touch and want to stay in seems to wither and die for the most part, though I dunno why. DX And everything I end up dropping after I join is like, immortal or something. It's just plain weird.

Anyway, I've played at Paixao for a few months now, and I can't see any truth to the rumors. I was loved on and made a valued part of the game immediately, without reservations, and the other players are all freakishly awesome; we have at least as much fun OOC as we do in the game itself. I dropped one of my more recent RPs because I couldn't STAND the constant, ever-present, immature, ENDLESS shipping, so I'm extra glad that I haven't seen a single bit of that in Paixao. The mods are all cool and easy to talk to, especially since they have a very strict rule of no OOC drama WHATSOEVER.

I personally don't understand the KH-centric complaint either, because I (sue me now) have never played any KH games, yet I can still function fine; the setting is a made-up neutral grounds with elements of KH that come to the fore and recede as necessary. The elements provide us with some structured plot, yet still give characters the freedom to interact as they see fit, and generate their own subplots from playing off each other.

I didn't know someone tried to steal the community. That's just sad.

I still don't like the place, though.

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah a little clique didn't like the head moderator so they hacked it and took everything. thankfully one of them felt bad enough to give it back.

HAHAHA That's not all that happened. But it's funny that that's how it's explained.
