iirc, his reputation in the SNL era was very juvenile and he was always rumored to have hooked up with whatever actress guest hosted in a given week.

I just remembered I watched one episode of Brooklyn whatever and I thought it was the worst thing I'd ever seen, but I was in a mood that night so maybe I should give it another chance.

I don't like Parks & Rec but love Brooklyn Nine Nine, so don't let that stop you from giving it a try. :) I've heard quite a few people say they watched the pilot and didn't care for it, but liked the show after seeing later episodes.

I love both shows, but B99 doesn't use embarrassment humor to the extent that P&R did (there were whole eps that I fastforwarded through because they were too painful to watch). Also, it takes about 10 eps before it gets good, like pretty much everything. The characters really grow on you after a while.

Prior to this show, he was known for really broad, goofy/juvenile humor of the kind that you either find riotously funny or despise with all of your being. I'm assuming OP falls into the latter camp.

I remember him from the videos he did with Jorma and Akiva on their site 'The Lonely Island'. I always thought they were hilarious.

I was just talking about this, OP! Like I actively disliked him/his comedy style on SNL and in other pre-B99 projects, but since then, I think the writing on B99 and the fact that most of his really broad comedy stuff has been reined in (or at least used sparingly) has really heightened his appeal for me.

So yeah. I'm with you.
