Let's Save This Thread, FS!

Best Spock moments that you loved, from all across the Trekverse.

For me, it has to be the end of The Search For Spock, when he recognizes Jim, and then recognizes Jim as his friend. Yep.

That SMILE at the end of Amok Time, as well. The pure joy of it. The sudden new lightness to his being...

This for me, too. And then he tries to recover...that whole scene is just a delight.

I loved that scene as well. And to top it off was Bones' response to Spock's reaction and attempt at finding a non-emotional reason it. A great scene of all three.

MeTV swapped in that episode for the one they had scheduled tonight for their Saturday night airing of Star Trek. Had a little memorial card up right before the episode. I had actuallyjust re-watched the episode earlier in the day, but it was still nice to see.

The whole movie "The Voyage Home" really.

Yep, although the no-yes-no-yes scene in the truck is my absolute favorite Spock scene from it!

For me, it's the look on the whale doc's face when he casually drops, "Gracie is pregnant," as he and Kirk are hustled out the door.

Doesn't he say that when they're driving? And then the doctor slams on the breaks?

Yep!! That's the scene. Cause she then starts to interrogate them again since no one is supposed to know that but her and the other handlers.

His expression when he mind melds with Picard and feels his father's love at the end of Unification. (TNG)

Balance of Terror. Just. How he handles the whole attitude from the redshirt, and then calmly proceeds to save the redshirt's life. The whole episode, if you were a Trek fan ore-TNG, adds layers and layers to the TNG Unification arc.

Can we have a shout out for the episode that justifies the existence of entire animated series, "Yesteryear?"The episode so good they retconned Spock's hometown into TOS when they updated the special effects? Because yeah, all of that. The link takes you to tv.com but it's also on Hulu and some other places.

This bit from near the end of 'The City on the Edge of Forever':

McCoy: You deliberately stopped me, Jim. I could have saved her. Do you know what you just did?
Spock: He knows, Doctor. He knows.

Because Jim knows exactly what he just did, and Spock knows exactly how much it cost him, and McCoy doesn't yet. They're hurting each other without wanting to. So Spock speaks up.

That's a lot of compassion in five words.

It's not a moment from canon, but back in the 60s, a young girl wrote a letter to Spock in a teen magazine about about her struggles with being rejected by her peers for having a white mother and a black father. Leonard saw the letter and he was so moved that he decided to write back to her, explaining how Spock handled the prejudice and rejection he experienced for being half human and half Vulcan. It's a really sweet letter. Turns out NPR did a piece on it yesterday in Code Switch, so you can read it here: http://www.npr.org/blogs/codeswitch/2015/02/27/389589676/leonard-nimoys-advice-to-a-biracial-girl-in-1968
