(Anonymous) 2015-03-01 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)Wow, no.
Seriously, no.
People like you are going to accomplish nothing good, and annoy the crap out of public health workers, who have reason to differentiate between male and female.
The worst thing about the trans* movement is that it led to whackjobs like you. I hope one day you grow up enough to realize how stupid you sound.
YEAH, I MEANT TO PUT IT WHERE I PUT IT
OK, you know what, I'm coming off anon. If feotakahari wants to identify as agender, or genderqueer, or "meh," that's hir business. Particularly online, you can present your gender (or not) as you choose. What I have a problem with is when people say, "bodies don't have gender," because of course they do, that's why being transgender is so difficult.
I spoke too harshly, hiding behind anonymity. Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine.
The whole point of cis* & trans* is that bodies have gender. Gender isn't just some made-up thing. It gets weird when you're intersex, or dysphoric. And in virtual spaces, it can be appealing to just disengage from gender identity.
But it's not just "cultural." Never was.
