I saw a Tumblr account yesterday that I'm 100% certain has to be a troll parodying SJWs:

-Demands (and I do mean demands, not requests) to be called it/itself, and flips out if misgendered.
-Talks constantly about being mentally ill and uses that as an excuse to be an arsehole.
-Is an otherkin/multi who believes they are the actual physical manifestation of a video game protagonist.
-Has a big "DO NOT FOLLOW ME IF" warning and the list is all fairly innocuous and common fandom things, but phrased in a way that implies anyone who likes them is a terrible -- and, of course, problematic -- person.
-Constant extreme more social justice than thou meta.
-Age implies that they're an adult and not an angsty teen.

Like I say, I'm calling troll. But people on Tumblr keep reblogging them super seriously, making pitying noises at them whenever they feel sad, and signal boosting their follow requests (even though there are only about two people who would meet their criteria for being allowed to follow them).

I don't know what's real and what's fiction anymore, F!S.

But keep in mind that a lot of people on tumblr are pretty young, or new to many concepts within social justice and sociology. So they may not yet have a 'troll radar'.

Sunday I saw people making tons of posts reminding ppl that February does not have 31 days so to remember to do __________. Like...if you don't know February does not have 31 days, you are not old enough to be on Tumblr.

...also why would you think February has 31 days anyway? It follows January.

lol to be fair I used to forget this a lot when I was a chronic procrastinator of a college student. It's not that I genuinely thought that February had 30/31 days or anything, but for every other month I didn't worry about 1st of next month deadlines until the 28th or so anyways, so I always ended up screwing myself over when February rolled around, just out of habit and forgetfulness.

I give up trying to make these determinations. Like if people are claiming offense over something, I never know who is

A) genuinely offended
B) not really offended, but figures they're supposed to be and worked themselves up into froth anyway
C) being sarcastic
D) trolling

the first point isnt trolly to me. people have a right to demand that their identity be respected.
the second point is sometimes reasonable, it really depends on the context.
the others arent necessarily trolly, unfortunately a lot of people on tumblr do those things and are serious about them

for instance i know of one particular blogger that requests that people who identify as fenris (from da2) not follow them. strange and sounds trolly, like someone mocking a certain part of tumblr's userbase, but entirely serious. shrug

I saw one recently about how awful it was that white people put their parents in retirement homes.

....so it's best to leave the aging parent at their home (parent's home) and let them just...eventually kill themselves due to not remembering something? Wandering out of teh house and driving and getting into an accident? Fall down the stairs?

Or, leave them at the child's home and make life far more stressful for them than they can maybe handle? What the fuck ever, Tumblr. You have fun with that.

Shit, I think I know exactly who this is, at least if one of their DO NOT FOLLOW warnings is something along the lines of "having the same kin as me." Glad to see someone's not just enabling their bullshit.

Saw someone I know mutually follow them recently the way you described and it really shocked me, because they're otherwise really chill and actively avoid drama.

Prob real. Just don't follow them and hope they'll grow out if it.

it doesnt, both it and they pronouns are my preference. i dont favour one over the other.

Can I ask why you don't use they or zie pronouns?

I mean your pronouns, obviously. I feel uncomfortable calling other people "it" though because it feels very dehumanizing.
