Okay well MASSIVE SPOILERS but...

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

In the comics, Sharon is brainwashed by Doctor Faustus and, along with Crossbones kills Steve. Crossbones snipes him and Sharon shoots him in "The Death of Captain America." Sharon actually delivers the killing blow.

On reddit, someone even pointed out that the last scene we see of Sharon at the CIA (in The Winter Soldier) is her shooting a target in the torso which he thinks is foreshadowing of her shooting Steve.

This bothers me intensely for two reasons:

1. I HATE...FUCKING HATE...the idea of Steve dying by being shot by someone he's in love with. Holy hell does it make my heart hurt. I do not want Steve's last moments to be so fucking painful.

2. The fans will NEVER FORGIVE Sharon. Even if she was brainwashed -- Bucky was tortured and brainwashed for 70 YEARS by Hydra but he still stopped himself. He broke through his programming because his love for Steve was stronger. If Sharon DOES end up shooting Steve, brainwashing or no, it's going to look super BAD in comparison to Bucky and she's going to get raked over the coals.

Add that onto the fact that:
-I wish she had been more developed in The Winter Soldier
-I find her relation to Peggy makes it super creepy if she would date Steve
-There's already so much to tie up that I don't think a new romance is a good idea

And I'm REALLY, REALLY hoping Sharon/Steve doesn't happen.

I feel you, but then I was in the thick of it when Civil War was going on and hated the whole thing. Groaned pretty audibly when they announced that they were doing it in the movies. Bleh.
