OK, I've only ever been able to watch Always Sunny intermittently, so I never caught the episode this cap is from...so I must know...Why is Charlie wearing an SS officer's cap?

I think it's an episode from the first season... Dee and Charlie go to visit her grandfather in a nursing home and he mistakes Charlie for Dennis and tells him about to take care of this box that has his most treasured possessions in it. Charlie opens it up to reveal a box full of Nazi paraphernalia... at one point Charlie dons the whole outfit.

Yep, Dennis and Dee's grandfather was a Nazi.

charlie just placidly eating cereal in a Nazi hat is among the things I've laughed hardest at in a sitcom ever. it's just so perfectly revealed.
