"Women are privileged because they don't have to fight in combat roles!" while whinging every time the subject comes up that "women shouldn't be allowed into combat roles, they're too weak and they'll destroy morale!"

So we're banned from combat because we're too weak and shitty, and men are allowed to do it because they're superior and awesome - is not a privilege, son. You also can't argue (which many of these people do) that women "should" bear the burdens of the draft/conscription/combat "if they want equal rights" while arguing that women "shouldn't" be allowed to do so, due to the aforementioned weakness/shittiness. Pick one, bro. You can't have both. Either we should and you're right there with the feminists pushing to open combat roles to women, or we shouldn't and we're absolved of that due to inherent inferiority. If we're going to go with absolute biological reductionism, you're also absolved of the responsibility to bear children - which also is bloody, arduous, painful, and sometimes lethal - so we're even.

I mean, the latter is balls out misogynistic idiocy on a multitude of levels, but at least it's ideologically consistent.

I HATE THIS TOO.

"Society has always valued women's lives over men's, women don't have to fight and die in war, women and children first, etc."

"Men are inherently stronger and strength matters in combat. Sorry it's not PC but women shouldn't be allowed to fight in combat roles."

The hilarious - well, not hilarious - part about this is that women always end up suffering and dying in major wars themselves, only unarmed and with no training to defend themselves. Because women don't have to fight and die in wars.

Conveniently ignored fact: more than twice as many civilians died as combatants in World War 2, the vast majority of which were women. Oh, you think I'm privileged because your great-grandfather fought in the war and you also have a penis like him? I can't hear you over the sound of multiple female relatives of mine being raped and slaughtered on the Eastern Front.

(Here in Canuckistan both men and women under 28 are eligible for conscription under the War Measures Act, so Canadian bros can't pull the "but-but I had to sign up for Selective Service! (and was never drafted, while female volunteer soldiers did fight and die in wars during my lifetime)" song and dance.)

...that's true. Man, that makes it so much worse...

Another layer of irony - men are supposed to ~protect~ women, and really traditional men take pride in that and are gratified by being able to treat us like precious objects that can't be broken...and then they fail hardcore at it. >_____> it would be so much easier for all involved if women were encouraged to protect ourselves in times of violence.

Yeah. That's the point where people aren't even trying to be internally consistent or logical. And it's just infuriating. Women are privileged and too strong and advantaged in society, precisely because they're so weak and useless. It's literal irrational voodoo conspiracy-type thinking. There's just no reasoning with it, because it's basically non-rational and almost magical thinking.
