Maybe both, maybe neither. Life isn't yaoi.

I usually assume versatile unless stated otherwise, but that's possibly just me.

That's a much better reply than I came here to type.

The obsession with who tops really irks me. The idea that there must be one top... Reminds me of all the times people ask female couples who's the man in the relationship.

If they're not going to offer up information about their sexual life WHY DO YOU HAVE TO KNOW

Re: +1

(Anonymous) 2015-03-04 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
It's called being curious, not HAVING TO KNOW, ffs.

I love it when people get all holier than thou because they've never wondered about anything sexual in other peoples' lives, ever.

The person you replied to said "ask". That's way beyond rude, and if you don't get that, the concept of manners has escaped you.

Thank you.

Ehh, plenty of guys DO identify as top or bottom, though. Plenty of guys switch, or don't do anal at all, sure. But "top or bottom" is a question you'll hear at any gay club. Yaoi did not exactly invent this concept.

Lots of gay guys do prefer to either bottom or top though.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-04 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
And if they felt identifying that way was important to them, or that they wanted to share publicly, I'm sure the world would already know.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-04 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, some, but not all. So why is this question always framed as "who tops" and not "if someone tops"? Just sounds like people think there has to be a guy filling the "feminine" role, like the "who's the man" for lesbians.

Agreed.

Kinda creepy how some people put fandom desires onto samesex couples...

(Anonymous) 2015-03-04 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
actually, people can be just as curious about heterosexal couples. It's just that they more readily assume that their way to have sex is more "conventional" i.e. Man=dominant/penetrates, woman=submissive/penetrated. The roles are clear, wich is of course kind of a sexist concept.
But with same sex couples that concept can't be applied, which just has people wonder more.
