I don't think I could ever pick a favorite but I agree that this is a fascinating one. It was an interesting time for feminism too and you can see the start of the clashes over feminism vs. anti-racism work where some men tried to discourage women from speaking publicly about abolition and the arguments about giving black men the right to vote before women.

Ooh yeah. I was going to mention that too but didn't want to ramble on and on. It's amazing the division between what should be the same movement. On the one hand, you did have the abolitionists (men and women alike) who argued that feminism was the next logical step (or concurrent step), whereas yeah. There were also the dudes going "WHOA WHOA WHOA TOTES DIFFERENT. GET BACK IN THE KITCHEN."

Have you read Susan Monk Kidd's The Invention of Wings? It's about the life of Sarah Grimke and one of her slaves, alternating between their POVs, and I really enjoyed it.
