You think people writing fanfic for something they really like is bizarre? You write fanfic and somehow this concept is eluding you, really? So what do you think about fandom based on adapted sources? I mean, I could cite 50 Shades of Grey or Mortal Instruments, but what we are basically talking about is people writing fanfic based on stories written about characters the authors didn't create.
