I kinda think that one of the reason I get upset about spoilers (and no, before anyone asks, I was not an anon in this thread, I don't watch The Wire and I was at work all evening) is that within a few months of HP6 coming out, a neighbor kid - he must have been 8 or 9 - spoiled it for me DELIBERATELY just to be a jackass. I mentioned that I was only halfway through it (I had to borrow my brother's copy, meaning I had to wait for him to be done with it before I read it) and he grinned and said "Dumbledore dies and Snape's the Half-Blood Prince" and then laughed when I got upset. I think I was in high school.
