In case you aren't a cunt and are willing to admit that perhaps your words might be offensive to disabled people and change:

Using phrases like “What are you, blind/deaf?” Even if unintentionally, it implies that blind/deaf/other disabilities are bad things. It turns the disability into an insult.

Or it implies that a person didn't see/hear something that was right in front of them, as one might if one were blind or deaf. Are the actions of being blind and/or deaf so offensive to you that mentioning them in context is an insult? If so, you may want to do some soul-searching, because it seems to me that you are the one with the prejudices that need to be overcome.

Honey, you disqualify yourself from any criticism if the only way of calling out an imagined "ism" is by using highly sexist insults. Also, as far as I know from my time of studying sign language, most people with a disability are more offended by the belittling and coddling they receive from people like you than by "ableist" words. Saying someone must have been blind is not an insult, it literally says someone did not see something.
