(Anonymous) 2015-03-04 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)Good marketing, the innate cliquishness of her target demographic, and the fact that she's avoided the kind of embarrassing scandals that tend to knock teen divas off their pedestals have made it stick. Also, she does seem to genuinely care for her fanbase, which counts for a lot.
A good PR team can make a mediocre musician into a superstar. Such is the way of pop.
