I'm pretty sure I figured out my sexual type is Zevran, but sadly he doesn't really have an equivalent in Inquisition.

You're not the only one. At first, I was persuaded I wouldn't like Zevran because of what I read about him and I intended to romance Alistair and marry him for the political power, but I couldn't help falling for Zevran. I mean, he's just perfect (and kind of fucked up but in an endearing way).

Okay, I swear I'm not actually into assassins in real life (icons notwithstanding) but yeah. I enjoyed that romance very much, in the sense I feel I'd enjoy a real-life romance.

His romance felt very real and mature. Maybe it's just me but it's my favorite romance - even though Fenris should be more my type, if only because I love hating him - because Zevran actually talks to you about things. And he is honest in a round-about way.

I absolutely love it when he speaks his mind even when I disagree (the anvil had to be destroyed) and he did help me in Orzammar because I didn't know which king to choose.

I liked the Fenris romance,too. It's a close second. But to me he's just too set in his mage-hate. I can deal with that because I know where it comes from, but I dislike people who are very inflexible and black-and- white like that in most cases.

Zevran has his issues, but he seems rather well-balanced despite all that, which I liked. Also funny-flirty, yet surprisingly deep and genuine. Yeah, I totally like this fictional character more tan I should.

I can't imagine not rivalmancing Fenris because otherwise I feel like I'm enabling him. I actually prefer Anders as a human being, and his romance is kind of sweet and tragic because he is a manipulative asshole, but I like that about him. The only reason why I romance Fenris is because I hope I can get him to admit that not all mages are bad - that and his voice makes me swoon.

And that's why I think Zevran's the best romance. In DA2 you've got to choose between two assholes who are actual assholes, whereas Zevran's not so bad in comparison. I like that he's got the same kind of backstory than Fenris but he can still be cheerful and joke around. I do agree when you say that he's flirty but still genuine.

I have way too much feelings about Dragon Age, especially Zevran.

Haha, someone who agrees that the "boy choice" in DAII is between to assholes! I agree so much. I couldn't do the Anders romance, though. I started, and it was cute at first but, I'm just so squicked by fanaticism. And yeah, Fenris isn't much better, but just enough to not be off-putting; And yeah that voice.

I didn't rivalmance him, I just didn't take him on missions that had anything to do with magic. It's not too hard, as I tend to play warrior myself as a standard choice.

But yeah, Zevran's the best romance :)

Fenris does admit it, in a roundabout way - in a banter with Anders, when Anders says "Not all mages are weak", Fenris agrees that mage!Hawke and/or Bethany aren't weak (in contrast to Anders). In a banter with Sebastian, he flatly refuses to turn any of their party mages into the templars as Sebastian suggests they should, not even Anders. Fenris bitches and moans endlessly, but he respects apostates who keep their shit together, and his loyalty to his friends trumps his prejudices.

I can see the parallels between Alistair and Cullen, but why would you compare them to Sebastian? I like Alistair just fine, he's not an asshole or bigoted in spite of his upbringing, and I can understand why Cullen is the way he is even though I personally don't like him, but Sebastian?! Okay, the accent's nice but he is the worst kind of asshole and without any actual reason except because the Chantry says so. In this regard he's more like Leliana than Alistair, who can actually think for himself.

Well, I haven't played Inquisition yet so perhaps I missed important character development, but in DAO she had bigoted opinions about elves. But I agree she's far from being as bad as Sebastian though.

I don't usually like moral characters and the religion thing pisses me off, especially when it comes to the ashes. That doesn't mean I hate all believers - I like Alistair and Anders, and I really like the Dalish and find their beliefs fascinating - but I can't stand people lecturing me. I don't like Wynne much either, by the way.

Text: I recently played all three of the Dragon Age Games because I liked Inquisition SO much. After playing all three, I have now found out that I definitely have a type that I go for and look for. How does one explain this? Also how the hell do you find someone similar in real life? (asking for... reasons..)

S/B: My romantic/sexual type was found in a video game? That is totally normal... and realistic!

I would agree with this secret if Sebastian weren't in the middle of it. Occasionally I'll say to myself, "Vael ain't so bad", but I always go back on that opinion. He drives me a little crazy. (Not in the good way, either.)

Alistair though, maker yes. Not exactly an unpopular opinion in this fandom, but what can I say: I love his silly sense of humor and sweetness.

Cullen...I actually disliked until Inquisition; always found him to be a bit of a dick. (Which made his character arc in Inquisition all the more enjoyable, and my reaction to said arc sort of hilarious. Yes, I have a thing for Cullen now.)

But there's soooooo many DA characters with good romances, and I appreciate most of them to some extent.

Yeah, I would be all over a RL version of Alistair. Not so much with Sebastian, since I'm not a huge fan of his. I do love Cullen, but the amount of baggage he understandable has would probably make me want to avoid a RL version.
