(Anonymous) 2015-03-05 12:28 am (UTC)(link)Again, I partly agree about the characters and partly don't. I think most of them basically work in concept and in broad strokes but there's a lot of moments where the execution falls down and it doesn't quite come off. Where the operatic element can't really be successfully seen. Especially in the prequels (probably in part because the story is meant to be more involved with the characters, instead of being an action piece with all big unsubtle character moments, but partly because they just aren't quite as well-made).
You and I have probably talked about the prequels enough that we're not going to change each others' minds, tbh. Respect though.
