It has literally saved my dad's life multiple times, including once where he hit a car (my dad was rolling down a hill, the car pulled out from a stop sign w/o seeing my dad, and he flipped) and landed on the hood/windshield
Yes, he got a concussion, and had memory problems for a bit
but
it could have been worse, and it wasn't because he was wearing a helmet
